Meet Nikki, our Founder/President. Nikki has always found that being in the company of animals is what best settles her soul. From climbing onto a horse a million times her size as a child, to knowing all animals within blocks of her home. Nikki's true love has always been with animals. She started in the veterinarian field in 2002 as a veterinary assistant, later becoming a Registered Veterinarian Technician, and reluctantly retiring from that field in 2016. Now working part time as a Medical Assistant, Nikki is able to be home more with the animals. Its been a dream come true for her to be able to provide a home for animals in need. " A beautiful soul deserves a beautiful life" and man, is it a good life!!!

Anthony (behind Stella) is our Vice President and Co-founder. Anthony and his dad Ken, who also happens to be our Chief of Maintenance, do so much work behind the scenes here!
Anthony and Ken are responsible for all the enclosure/shelter/fencing/maintenance. They manage to make what is in Nikki's head a reality, and we couldn't do any of this without Anthony and his dad! |
This lovely young lady is the daughter of Anthony and Nikki and serves on the board as the treasurer. Carissa grew up on the back of a horse and has never been without the company of animals. She's always willing to lend a helping hand around the rescue. She's a hard working college student, loves spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend. Has the biggest heart of anyone you'll meet and the sweetest smile. We couldn't be more proud of this young lady! And love that she agreed to be apart of our team!

Meet Amanda, everyone! This picture about sums up this lovely lady's personality and we love having her along for the ride. She serves on our board as the secretary, but she does so much more behind the scenes. Amanda helps with fundraising, planning up coming events, all the arts and crafts (this one is responsible for all that) and more importantly she LOVES animals and loves the animals that call All Souls home. She and her husband, Evan, have opened their home and hearts to many animals included Waffles, Burb, Walter, Cat, 2 chinchillas, and most recently Magoo. Magoo was surrendered by her previous owner and Amanda and Evan were more than happy to take her in. She is someone who brings so much to our rescue and we are so fortunate to have her on board!

Lea recently moved back to Sacramento with her dog Lily to be closer to family after spending the last decade in San Diego. Lea and Nikki met through a mutual friend, and the rest is history! Lea started volunteering with ASARS every Saturday. What started with a couple hours turned into full days, that turned into full days with Lily coming, to running rescue errands and offering ideas for help with fundraising and events. Lea grew up with animals, mostly dogs and cats, and has loved being around all sorts of animals her whole life. Horses have been a relatively recent discovery for her, and she has fallen completely in love with them, especially with Luke (pictured with Lea here) who lives at All Souls! It wasn't a tough decision to ask Lea to join our team as Director of Animal Care. We are more than honored and thrilled that she excepted and are so excited for her to be apart of our team!!! Oh, and Lily too!

This smiling beauty is Jen. Jen and Nikki met late 2019 at work and their friendship was a very easy one! Jen is that friend we all wish we had. She visits as often as she can but is always there when I've needed her. Jen lives in Auburn, with her husband, Scott, nine-year-old (amazing, funny, beautiful) daughter, Ellie, and two sibling felines named Yoda and Rey. Ellie shares her mom's love for animals and is always up for visiting the sweet critters that call All Souls home.

Would love for you all to meet Stephanie, Dan, and Braedon and three of Nikki's most favorite people (especially the little one) Family, my friends, its all about family! We are beyond blessed to have this family be apart of ASARS and put so much into supporting us. Braedon stays at least once a month, although, if up to Nikki he would probably just move in. He gets up early to help feed, helps to clean up, helps uncle Anthony with tractor work and building. They make the trip to the rescue at least monthly to hang out and help with whatever they can.

Jeremy is a farrier, aka hoof care extraordinaire, and one of our most treasured of people. He has many years experience in the field and at such a young age. He's been with us since 2015 and we are so very grateful for all he does. Jeremy is kind, gentle, patient, and loving with our animals. However, he does need supervision when visiting as he has tried, on more than one occasion, to trick Linus (baby donkey) into taking a car ride with him. All jokes aside, we are blessed to have such a wonderful and talented soul taking care of our animals!
