Although not rescued since we became a 501(c)3, Bella was most definitely a rescued cat.
I was still working in the vet field when this little lady arrived not even 2 lbs, sick with a sever upper respiratory infection, skinny, and barely alive.
She will be 13 years young soon and is our senior cat of the house! She is, by all accounts, your typical "bottle fed baby" with a little bit of love and a whole lot of sass. All on her terms of course.

I used to volunteer at a cat rescue locally and after not bringing home any cats for almost 4 years, this little black kitten decided to change that. Meet Wednesday (although it was a Friday when she stool my heart) The idea was to foster her, LOL...clearly that was a fail! She will be 5 soon and pretty much does whatever she wants.

Hobbs aka Nuggs was found by our dear friends from Lost Souls Animal Rescue. He was found in May 2020 as a wee baby with other kittens and mom nowhere to be found. He was at Hoblit Dodge in Woodland, hence the name Hobbs. They weren't in a position to give this little guy a home so she called us, and well, what's one more LOL. He's grown into a beautiful cat and definitely keeps me on my toes

The name alone about sums up the personality of this little guy, as he is always up to something. Alvin is 1 of 5 kittens born June 24, 2020 and arrived here at ASARS around 7 weeks old.
Their job will be to keep our rodent population at bay. Once everyone is spayed, neutered, and fully vaccinated they'll have 15 acres of room to run and play!
SIDE NOTE: I have struggled with the idea of outdoor barn cats for years, I mean I really hate the idea of it, as we live in the country with all kinds of predators. But we need outdoor cats desperately due to the rats and ground squirrels that call us home as well. We have built them a secure area next to our house and they will come in every night. I will do all I can to ensure they live a long life with us!!!!

Meet Simon the only gray and white of the 5 kittens. They're all super sweet but this little one is especially so. He loves cuddling and playing with his brothers and sisters

Turns out Theodore is a actually a girl, oops! But by the time that was figured out she knew her name, so Theodore it is. And much like her brother Simon, she's a cuddle bug.

My dear friend has a daughter named Briar who loves kittens, so I felt it only appropriate that one of the kittens be named after her!
So, meet Mr. Briar Marie (yup, she's a he!! LOL, our vet sexed incorrectly but we only really discovered that Briar was a boy after he knew his name. So, Briar stayed Briar.
