This photo is what made my heart sink!!! Not knowing Quincy was in Texas (we're in California) I had to do something!!!! Once I discovered he was so far away I got to work on how to get him here to us. With lots of calls and texts and support my husband and our friend flew to Texas one Saturday, rented a car (shhhh...not suppose to put dogs in rental cars) and drove back to California with this sweet soul. He arrived the following Monday at 4 am and his journey to love and recovery started!
Quincy is a wonderful, sweet, and trusting dog. He loves his toys, hugs, kisses, and just snuggling. Its hard to imagine what his fate would have been if we hadn't stepped in.
After a visit to the veterinarian it was determined that he most likely was hit by a car, not recently, but sometime ago. Clearly emaciated and weak. His blood work actually came back good, no tick disease found, no other issues. However, he has no control of his bladder or bowels. He has trouble walking due to his injuries but no worry, a wheelchair will give this boy a means to run wild. Quincy will always require a little extra care but we are more than blessed and honored to provide this sweet soul with just that!!! Welcome to sanctuary life, Quincy!!!!

Its hard to believe anyone would part with this handsome guy but lucky for us, they did! Meet Barnabas, my friends. He is a 4 year old Doberman Pinscher. I've had the pleasure of being in the company of this breed for over 20 years. And they are by far one of my most favorite of creatures.
Barnabus was in pretty rough shape when we got him. He had a severe case of demodox mange, a secondary bacteria and yeast infection, he was about 10 lbs under weight and had no idea how to be an inside family dog. Living most of his life as a breeding dog and spending most of his time in a crate with no bedding. Barnabus has been with us since April 2019 and has been settling in wonderfully. Finding a playmate in Deja, our other Doberman, Sandy, and Stella. Although he and Wednesday, one of our cats, seem to have quite a friendship brewing. He is still learning how to listen off leash so he isn't running around the property just yet. But spends supervised hours a day running and playing with Deja. If you'd like to sponsor Barnabus please email Nikki at [email protected] |
Stella Bean is just the sweetest little soul! It took her a bit to warm up to us but once she did, oh my goodness, the kisses haven't stopped!
She was found running the streets of Stockton, CA and once rescued she settled into her foster home. We were happy to offer this lovely little girl a forever home. She gets along great with all critters here at All Souls and loves to be with her hooman mom, Nikki.
If you're interested in sponsoring Stella, please inquire at [email protected]

Meet Sandy!!! Sandy actually had a home with a family but after sometime, she just wasn't a good fit. They very reluctantly reached out to us asking if we might be willing to take her. They really love this girl but it just wasn't the "right" home.
She is the sweetest little pup, loves to hug I mean she actually hugs, its so adorable. She LOVES kids, loves people, loves other animals! She fit right in almost immediately. As with Stella, she was found running the streets of Stockton, CA. She was picked up by Animal Control and after no luck finding her owner was placed up for adoption.
We've been in the company of Sandy for just about a year and a half and can't imagine life without her!

Deja Marie is one of the most loving dogs you'll ever meet! She came from a home that was full of loud young boys with another on the way. She was starting to be come very nervous and they felt it best for her to be placed elsewhere. I have been in the company of dobermans since 1995 and used to work in the ternary field as a registered vet tech. At that time I was still working in the field a client had called and asked if they knew anyone who might be interested in giving Deja a home. And the rest is history, my friends!
